The Residential Landlords Association (RLA) and the National Landlords Association (NLA) have announced their intention to unite to create a single organisation for landlords after more than 20 years of friendly competition.
The new Association will have a membership of more than 80,000 landlords making it by far the largest organisation in the private rented sector (PRS). Its members will own and manage half a million properties, about 10% of the PRS.
The chairmen of both organisations have issued a joint message as follows:-
“Rivalry can be a great stimulant - but can also sap the very strength you need to overcome your real challenges. That's why after 20 years we believe it's time to get together. A coming together of equals. And together as the National Residential Landlords Association - NRLA - we will work for over 80,000 landlords.
One voice, one more powerful organisation speaking to government and opening up new commercial opportunities. Services to members will be enhanced and increased. With the synergy of like-minds, and a common cause, we will expand the ways we support landlords.”
